This afternoon, I heard the chime on the back door sound and didn't hear anyone come down to the office (church or CORE). When I went to see who had come in several minutes later, I found a well dressed young man coming out of the sanctuary. When I asked if I could help him, he said, "No, I just needed to go inside for a few minutes."

It's great to work in a place that even strangers know that they can come in for a few minutes and feel welcome. This past week, I celebrated my third anniversary with Computer C.O.R.E. and I am struck now as I was then how welcoming FPC is to the community.Dawn Terminellanoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17692816.post-47845762029503590662007-10-14T18:19:00.000-04:002007-10-14T18:19:00.000-04:00wow, glimpse of perfection indeed!wow, glimpse of perfection indeed!Barbara B.http://www.blogger.com/profile/02645311082295646375noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17692816.post-9149642660033390662007-10-14T09:32:00.000-04:002007-10-14T09:32:00.000-04:00You do serve a cool church, and your post is a rem...You do serve a cool church, and your post is a reminder that we can either see our buildings as burdens that weigh us down financially or as the tools for ministry and community connection that they truly are. Glad it was such an awesome day!

Reverent ReaderReading Revhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13145180287302568187noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17692816.post-12843538532760903582007-10-13T23:09:00.000-04:002007-10-13T23:09:00.000-04:00Amen. Right after adding a new kitchen to our new fellowship hall, some members actually asked if we should be using the new kitchen for the soup kitchen ministry or continue using the old one in order to make the new one last longer! I was appalled. Apparently, we had forgotten what our true mission was, and sadly, this is not uncommon.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17692816.post-32056378864138382142007-10-13T22:59:00.000-04:002007-10-13T22:59:00.000-04:00I love your church too! Not many knew him yet, but we had food and tea for 95 people on 5 days notice. It's days like these that make me so thankful for the church.Terihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10838436991138846332noreply@blogger.com
